My name is Melissa and I am the owner of Seaside Beach Parties here in Seaside, Oregon!
I have always loved hosting parties. Birthday parties, Baby and Bridal showers, Backyard BBQ’s, Halloween parties…you name it…..I wanted to throw it! Oh, and I did. So many! Sometimes to my husband's dismay. You see, I didn’t just throw a small get together with a few people. I had to throw an experience. An experience that would sometimes take me months to put together. Creating and setting the scene. The decor. The plates and flatware. Flowers. Games. Snacks. Food. Dessert. Take home favors. I wanted to create a moment in time. An experience for all in attendance. And I did. Some of my favorite parties are still reminisced about amongst different groups of friends and family. And that makes my heart so happy!
Throwing a party is not just something you ‘throw’ together. I mean, sure, I guess you could do it that way. But why? Why not, if you have the time, patience, or help, would you not want to make a meaningful experience out of something that could be so mundane? Creating something for people to really feel while they are with you.
So, fast forward through 20 years of marriage, 4 kids, and SO. MANY. parties.
We found ourselves moving from our beautiful home in California to fulfill our dreams of living on the coast. We spent so many (if not all) our vacations on a beach wondering one day would we ever get to call an ocean our home? Well, we did it. And we couldn’t be happier.
We found our forever on the northern coast of Oregon in a little town called Seaside. Nestled in between Cannon Beach and Astoria (Hello Goonie lovers!) We are surrounded by beautiful beaches with more sand than I have ever seen. And that’s when it hit me.
I created Seaside Beach Parties not long after we moved here. I wanted to bring a fun, beautiful beach experience to people who want to not only enjoy the beach, but to create a memory in time. A comfortable, cozy, unique experience surrounded by twinkle lights as the sun dips down below the ocean line. Something where people could just be. Just enjoy. Not having to haul ALL. THE. THINGS down to the beach. Where it could just be ready and whimsical and there to enjoy. And that’s what I have done.
I love creating every party and adding special touches to it. Bows, banners, incorporating special colors, candles, lanterns, flowers and lighting. Beach blankets and throw pillows. Personalized decor for just that event. The last few years have been so fun helping others create these lasting memories and I hope one day I can help create yours too!
